Common questions

How does MomentClose choose what to suggest?

You tell it how much time you have — 5, 10, 20 or 30 minutes — and it suggests one open thing that fits that window, with a short reason. If it isn’t right, tap through a few alternatives or choose “Not now”.

How many things can I keep for free?

Up to 20 at a time. Open and resting things count together, so moving something to Resting doesn’t free a place. Closing it or letting it go does. Plus removes the limit.

Where is my data stored?

On your phone. There is no account, no sign-in and no MomentClose server holding what you add. On Android, depending on your phone and its backup settings, Android’s own backup to your Google account may include the app’s data, which is how it can move with you to a new phone. That backup is Google’s, under your account. On iPhone, the app’s data is left out of device backups. MomentClose has no cloud sync of its own. If you delete the app and have no backup, it cannot be recovered — we never held a copy.

How do notifications work?

Everything is scheduled on your phone; nothing is sent from a server. There are three kinds:

  • Daily nudges are off until you turn them on, and you pick the times. With Quiet evenings and Quiet on weekends on (the default), they aren’t sent between 10pm and 8am or at weekends. While nudges are on, you may also get one note about your oldest open thing, about a week after you added it.
  • Reminders (Plus) come once, at the exact day and time you set for a specific thing. They don’t repeat, and the Quiet switches don’t apply to them.
  • If you haven’t opened the app for 14 days, you may get one short note: “Still here, whenever something's on your mind.”

They use your phone’s usual notification settings and sound. To stop all of them, turn off notifications for MomentClose in your phone’s settings.

What does “Add to calendar” do?

It adds a one-time event to the calendar you choose, with the thing’s title and its estimated length, at the start time you pick. If you change the thing in MomentClose later, the event doesn’t change.

How do I restore Plus on a new phone?

Sign in to the same Apple ID or Google account, open the Plus screen in the app and tap “Restore purchases”.

How do I cancel my subscription?

Subscriptions are managed by your store. On iPhone: Settings → your name → Subscriptions. On Android: the Google Play Store → your profile → Payments & subscriptions → Subscriptions, or in MomentClose: Settings → Manage subscription. You keep Plus until the end of the period you paid for.

Can I get a refund?

Refunds are handled by Apple or Google under their policies; MomentClose cannot issue them. Apple: reportaproblem.apple.com. Google Play: request it from your Google Play order history.

What happens when I tap a reminder?

MomentClose opens that thing and starts it. If it’s a one-time thing that’s resting, it’s brought back first. If it repeats and isn’t due yet, or you’re in the middle of something else, you’ll see its card instead. Closed things stay closed.

What happens if I miss a repeating thing?

It stays open until you get to it. No extra copies are added for the dates you missed, and once you close it, it comes back on its next date. You can stop it repeating at any time.

Can I change the app’s language?

Yes. Open Settings → Language in the app.
