Privacy Policy
Last updated: 21 October 2026.
The short version
The MomentClose app doesn't need an account and doesn't collect personal data. What you add stays on your phone. We don't run a server that stores it, and we can't see it.
What is stored, and where
Everything you add (titles, notes, lengths, tags, reminder times, and whether something is open, resting or closed) is saved in the app's own storage on your phone. It is not sent to us. There is no account and no sign-in.
MomentClose has no cloud sync of its own: what you add is never uploaded to us.
On Android, depending on your phone and its backup settings, Android's own backup to your Google account may include the app's data and can restore it to a new phone. That backup is made and stored by Google under your account and settings, not by MomentClose, and we can't access it.
On iPhone, the app's data is left out of device backups, so it does not move to a new iPhone through a backup.
If you delete the app, its data is removed from your phone. If you have no backup, it can't be recovered, by you or by us, because we never had a copy. Please don't rely on MomentClose as the only record of anything you can't afford to lose.
What we don't do
- The app doesn't ask for your name, email address or contacts.
- We don't track your location.
- We don't build a profile of you or your behavior.
- We don't show ads, and we don't sell or share your data with advertisers.
- We don't use what you write to train any model.
Analytics and crash reports
This version of MomentClose doesn't send usage analytics or crash reports to us or to anyone else. If that ever changes, we will update this policy and the app-store privacy details before that version is released.
Notifications
All notifications are created on your phone and delivered by your phone's operating system. Nothing is sent from a server, and no information leaves your phone to produce them. They can include:
- Reminders you set for a specific thing (Plus). A reminder shows the title of that thing.
- Daily nudges, only if you turn them on. While they are on, MomentClose may also send one note about your oldest open thing, about a week after you added it. That note names it.
- One note after 14 days without opening the app.
Notifications can appear on your lock screen, depending on your phone's settings. You can turn them off for MomentClose at any time in your phone's settings.
Calendar
Only if you use Add to calendar. MomentClose then asks for calendar access so it can show your calendars and add the event you asked for. It doesn't read your existing events. Once added, the event (its title, start time and length) is kept by your calendar app and by any calendar account it syncs with, under that provider's terms.
Sharing and shortcuts
Ask for help and some shortcuts open your phone's share menu with a message filled in. Nothing is sent unless you choose an app and send it yourself. The call shortcut simply opens your phone app.
Purchases
Plus and Lifetime are bought through the Apple App Store or Google Play. Apple or Google handle the payment and your payment details; we never receive them. The store tells the app what you have bought so it can unlock Plus on your phone. The app doesn't send that information to us. Apple's or Google's own privacy policy applies to the purchase.
Contacting support
Contact support in the app opens your own email app with our address filled in. Nothing is sent until you send it. If you write to us, we receive your email address and whatever you include in your message.
Children
MomentClose is not directed at children and does not knowingly collect data from children.
Changes
If the way MomentClose handles data changes, we will update this policy and the app-store privacy details before that version is released.
