MomentClose — Terms of Use

Draft for review. Last updated: [DATE].

What MomentClose is

MomentClose is a small tool for setting down and quietly working through mental "open loops." It is a calm, local-first utility. By using the app, you agree to these terms.

What MomentClose is NOT

This is important and deliberate:

If you are struggling with your mental health, please reach out to a qualified professional or a local support service. MomentClose is a quiet organizing tool, nothing more.

Your content

Your loops, notes, and activity are stored locally on your device (see the Privacy Policy). You are responsible for that content. Because it is local and there is no cloud backup in V1, we cannot recover it for you if it is lost (for example, if you delete the app or lose the device).

Acceptable use

Use the app for your own personal organizing. Don't attempt to reverse-engineer, disrupt, or misuse it in ways that would harm others or the service.

No warranty

MomentClose is provided "as is," without warranties of any kind. We do our best to make it stable and calm, but we cannot guarantee it will be error-free or available at all times.

Limitation of liability

To the extent permitted by law, the makers of MomentClose are not liable for any indirect or consequential damages arising from your use of the app, including any loss of locally stored data.

Feature evolution

MomentClose will change over time. Features may be added, changed, or removed, and the app's internal behavior may evolve between versions. Where a change affects how your data is handled — most importantly, if a future version enables analytics or crash reporting that sends information off your device — the Privacy Policy and the app-store privacy disclosures will be updated to describe it accurately before that version is released. Continued use of a new version after such an update means you accept the updated terms.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of [JURISDICTION], without regard to its conflict-of-laws rules. Any dispute arising from your use of MomentClose will be subject to the courts of [JURISDICTION], except where applicable consumer- protection law grants you the right to bring proceedings in your own jurisdiction.

Changes

These terms may be updated. Material changes will be reflected in an updated version shipped with the app.
